Mobily, a wireless provider in the Middle East, is going to roll out a firmware update for its 4g routers. The update will bring an array of new features and enhancements to the devices. Mobily is a telecommunications company with headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The company currently provides services in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and United Arab Emirates. Mobily also operates the world’s 7th fastest data network with download speeds up to 120 Mbps on 3G. The upcoming firmware update will provide several new features and enhancements. For example, the new update will allow users to select WiFi or Ethernet as their preferred connection. Whats more, it will enable point to point (PtP) internet access and WDS (Wireless Distribution System) mode. Mobily routers also come with a remote access feature through which the user can connect with his router from outside of his home or office. The new update is aimed at providing users with more options for seamless connectivity. According to Mobily’s official website, currently there are four different models of 4g routers available on the market, namely - MR200 , MR300, MR600 and MR3000 . The new firmware update will be rolled out to the MR200, MR300, MR600 and MR3000 models. Mobily currently provides 4G/LTE services in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and United Arab Emirates. However how successful the roll-out will be of the new firmware update depends on the response from the users of these countries. The company plans to expand its network services to Egypt by next year.
